The proposals, by reason of their design, form and length, would result in an out of character intrusive and incongruous extension and alterations which would not be compatible or in keeping with the existing dwelling or the street scene generally. The development would therefore be detrimental to visual amenity and contrary to Policy CS2 of the Charnwood Local Plan 2011-2028 Core Strategy, saved Policies EV/1 and H/17 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan (2004), the Council's adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance on House Extensions (2001), Supplementary Planning Document, Leading in Design (2006) and the advice contained within the National Planning Policy Framework.
