Notwithstanding the details accompanying the planning application, the local planning authority is not satisfied that a need exists on this agricultural holding for an additional building of this size, form and design and which is more akin to providing residential accommodation than an agricultural function. As such the proposal constitutes an unjustified and incongruous intrusion into the countryside which results in harm to its character and appearance and conflicts with the aims and objectives of saved Policies CT/1 and EV/1 of the adopted Borough of Charnwood Local Plan and CS10 and CS11 of the emerging Charnwood Local Plan Core Strategy. It would not therefore be sustainable development as set out at paragraph 7 of the National Planning Policy Framework.
