Reasons 2

The proposal, if permitted would result in the loss of adequate car parking provision within the site which would, in turn lead to vehicles parking in the highway to the detriment of the safety of road users, including pedestrians. The proposal would thereby be contrary to saved Policies TR/6 and TR/18 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan and Policy CS 2 of the emerging Charnwood Local Plan Core Strategy 2006 to 2028.


Reasons 1

The local planning authority considers that the size and siting of the proposed two storey extension would be detrimental to the amenities of occupiers of 68 Hawcliffe Road due to overshadowing, dominance and a substantial loss of light. For these reasons the proposal would be contrary to the intentions of saved Policies H/17 and EV/1 of the adopted Borough of Charnwood Local Plan and Policy CS 2 of the emerging Charnwood Local Plan Core Strategy 2006 to 2028, which seek to ensure that a development would not be detrimental to the amenities of occupiers of nearby properties, and in conflict with the advice given on the location of extensions in the Borough Council's adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance on House Extensions.
