Use of the extension as a separate dwelling would give rise to a cramped form of development with poor internal space and outlook and no private outdoor amenity area for future residents to use. This would be contrary to saved poilicy H/16 of the Adopted Charnwood Local Plan, emerging policy CS2 of the Core Strategy and the advice given in the National Planning Policy Framework, (in particular in paragraph 17); all of which seek to ensure provision is made for appropriate standards of amenity for future occupiers.
