It is the opinion of the local planning authority that the extension of opening hours from 9:30am to 6:30pm to 9:30am to 10:00pm Monday to Saturday would result in an intensification of the use leading to an increase in noise and disturbance to the surrounding residential properties. The car park to the rear is surrounded by residential properties and their associated gardens and if the car park is used until 10pm at night, the associated noise and disturbance would be considered intrusive and detrimental to their residential amenity. It is therefore considered that this would be contrary to policies EV/1, EV/39 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan, policy CS2 of the Emerging Core Strategy and the National Planning Policy Framework which all seek to protect the amenity of the surrounding area.
