In the absence of details which identify potential problems of noise/odour disturbance from the extraction system, along with setting out mitigation measures to overcome identified problems, it is considered that the proposal would be likely to give rise to an unacceptable level of noise/odour disturbance to nearby dwellings. This would be detrimental to residential amenity. The proposal would be contrary to Policies CS2 of the Charnwood Local Plan 2011-2028 Core Strategy, EV/1 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan (2004) and the adopted Design Supplementary Planning Document (2020).

It is the opinion of the local planning authority that, by reason of its scale, design and location in a visible area close to a main entrance to the school and nearby public highway, the proposed external extraction system would appear unduly dominant, unsightly and incongruous, which would be significantly detrimental to the visual amenity of the locality. The proposal would be contrary to Policies CS2 of the Charnwood Local Plan 2011-2028 Core Strategy, EV/1 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan (2004) and the adopted Design Supplementary Planning Document (2020).
