The proposed dwelling would lead to a cramped form of development with minimum privacy and poor amenity space and living environment standards for the occupiers of the existing and proposed dwellings. The proposal would therefore be detrimental to residential amenity and would conflict with the provisions of the National Planning Policy Framework, Policy CS/2 of the Charnwood Local Plan Core Strategy, saved Policy EV/1 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan, the adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance on 'Backland and Tandem Development' and Supplementary Planning Document 'Leading in Design'.
