Reasons 2

The local planning authority is of the opinion that in view of its height and close proximity to the adjacent neighbouring properties, No 6, 7 and 8 Heron Close, the proposed extension would result in a cramped form of development and would appear as an incongruous element in the streetscene. It would therefore be harmful to the visual amenity of the area and contrary to the intentions of EV/1, H/17 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan and the Council’s Supplementary Planning Guidance on House Extensions and the Supplementary Planning Document, Leading in Design.


Reasons 1

It is the opinion of the local planning authority that in view of its height and close proximity to the neighbouring property, namely No 7 Heron Close, the proposed two storey extension would have an overbearing impact and result in overshadowing and loss of light to their front living room window. The proposal would therefore be contrary to the intentions of EV/1, H/17 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan and the Council’s Supplementary Planning Guidance on House Extensions and the Supplementary Planning Document, Leading in Design.
