Reasons 1

The local planning authority is of the opinion that the development would result in an unacceptable loss of off-street car parking facilities at the property, which would result in vehicles parked at the property overhanging the public highway. This would be detrimental to the safety of highway users such as pedestrians and cyclists. The development, therefore, is contrary to the provisions of saved policies EV/1 and TR/6 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan (2004). These policies seek to ensure that new development meets the needs of all groups and does not result in the unsafe and unsatisfactory operation of the highway system.
