The large illuminated pylon sign would be located unduly prominently near to the site boundary and a significant distance from the commercial premises to which it relates. The large illuminated "Colonel" sign on the front elevation of the amenity building is too large in relation to the scale of this building and is unduly prominent within the site. It is considered that, by virtue of their location, size and illumination, these signs would appear as incongruous and intrusive features which would be detrimental to visual amenity and, accordingly, would fail to comply with saved Policy EV/1 of the adopted Borough of Charnwood Local Plan and the advice given in PPG19, which relates to advertisements.
