Melton Road is a classified road and as the proposed development makes no provision for off-street car parking, it is likely to result in vehicles being parked on Melton Road in the vicinity of the site which will impede the free flow of traffic and also restrict the visibility splays available for vehicles turning out of the adjacent access to the Village Hall car park, to the detriment of highway safety. The proposal is, therefore, contrary to Transport Policy 6 of the Leicestershire Structure Plan and Policies TR/1 and TR/18 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan (January 2004)
