It is the opinion of the local planning authority that the proposed fence, by reason of its siting close to 12 West Cross Lane and its design and materials, would appear harsh and alien in relation to the appearance of this building, listed as having special architectural character and interest, and, thereby, detrimental to its setting and contrary to Policy EV/5 of the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan.
